Tickets for the Honoring Civil Rights Pioneers Past, Present and Future Luncheon are still available for purchase — this event kicks off the weeklong celebration and features Reverend Jesse Jackson, actress Victoria Rowell, Attorney General Eric Holder, Minister Earnest Pugh with performances by Christopher Williams and Naturally 7.

The Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial

The Memorial will officially open to the public on Monday, August 22, 2011.

Honoring Global Leaders for Peace

International Salute Gala Dinner
This formal dinner will initiate five days of Dedication events and commemorates the men and women who continue to pursue the dream of global peace and social equality, a goal championed by Dr. King in his universal message of Democracy, Justice, Hope and Love.

Honoring Past, Present, Future Pioneers

Civil Rights Pioneers Luncheon
While Dr. King was arguably one of the most influential figures to emerge from the Civil Rights Movement, he was not alone.  This luncheon honors those who dared to stand with Dr. King, those who dare to stand for the dream today, and those who dare future generations to continue to stand for social justice and equality.

Women Who Dare to Dream

Women's Luncheon
Equally as important as their male counterparts, the women of the Civil Rights Movement have earned our respect and esteem.   At this luncheon, we honor the women whose legacy of strength and dignity continues to inspire hope.

Kennedy Center Celebration

Maggie Ingram and the Ingramettes with Naturally 7 and Frédéric Yonnet
Gospel legends Maggie Ingram and the Ingramettes, a cappella group Naturally 7, Raheem DeVaughn, and urban jazz harmonicist Frédéric Yonnet host a Millennium Stage concert honoring the dedication of the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial.

Dream Gala
The Dream Gala is the premier VIP formal event of Dedication, where all Leadership Donors, dignitaries and honored supporters come together for a momentous evening celebrating the completion of the dream, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial.
